Michelle is the co-owner of Active Therapy Clinic Inc. and brings with her a steadfast foundation of experience and expertise to the field of Massage Therapy. She is the Senior Therapist at Active Therapy Clinic having graduated in 1997 from the 2500 hour Massage Therapy program at Career Academy in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Michelle has been practicing in Fredericton for 12 years and has established herself as one of the strongest, most effective, yet compassionate therapists in town. Michelle’s energy has allowed her to be a cornerstone in many different areas of the Massage Therapy industry. She was a Head Instructor and Director of the Student Clinic at Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy for 7 years where she had the opportunity to instruct and supervise many of the therapists who are now employed at Active Therapy Clinic.

Since graduating from the Massage Therapy Program, Michelle has completed several continuing education courses including Cranial Sacral Therapy (Level 1), Sports Rehabilitation (Level 1), Stability Core Training, Strengthening and Conditioning, and Basic Fitness Theory. She is certified in Exercise Therapy, Personal Training and has completed her Masters Series in Structural Integration (Advanced Myofascial Release Technique). Michelle is currently a teacher’s assistant for anatomy labs at the University of New Brunswick and will be teaching massage therapy classes at Compu-College in the fall of 2009.

Because of her dedication and sincere desire to help the community, Michelle is committed to offering the best quality care that Massage Therapy has to offer. Her goals are to facilitate healing and promote education for the public about how Massage Therapy can help with recovery from soft tissue injuries.

Liza Papazian, BA, RMT, ART

Liza is the co-owner of Active Therapy Clinic Inc. and provides a dynamic combination of business skills with a solid foundation in therapeutic assessment and treatment of pathologies. She is a graduate of Bishop’s University (1995) with a degree in Business Administration and Political Studies.

She moved to Fredericton in 1998 and returned to school to study Massage Therapy. In April 2001, she graduated from Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy and earned the first “Outstanding Practical Hands-On Award” from the school. She is also the first Canadian to win the 2001 American Massage Therapy Association Scholarship Award which allowed her to start up her own business 8 years ago. Liza was a Head Instructor at Kine-Concept from September 2001-2006 where she taught Remedial Exercise, Gross Anatomy and Therapeutic Massage Treatments and Assessment.

In 2004, Liza became certified in Active Release Techniques (ART) and now specializes in this area. She works closely with ART in order to accelerate the natural healing of soft tissue injuries. ART has offered her the exceptional tools necessary to unlock new or long-standing injuries that have not responded to other forms of treatment. She is available to offer presentations on ART upon request. A former elite level gymnast, she also brings a wealth of experience to her treatment of athletic injuries. She is an avid runner and boxer and loves to spend her time training and competing across Canada.

Liza is focused on providing the public with an accurate picture of how Therapeutic Massage can lead to improved health. She is fully committed to establishing a top quality massage therapy facility offering relevant services to the public. Gaye Anne Sinclair, RMT, SI

Gaye Anne graduated from Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy in June 2004 and has been practicing at Active Therapy Clinic since 2005. In May 2005, Gaye Anne became certified in "Structural Integration" which is similar to "Rolfing". This specialized set of 10 treatments is geared towards re-aligning posture in the body and Gaye has had great success with her clientele. To build upon her foundation, Gaye practices yoga and incorporates the use of the 3 part breath in her practice.

She is also a Fitness Technician, Registered Resistance Instructor and is working towards her Yoga Instructor Certificate (Level I). She is a member in good standing with the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists (ANBMT) and the New Brunswick Council for Fitness & Active Living (NBCFAL). Gaye Anne serves her clients with dedication & respect and is committed to their optimal health and wellness. Her strength lies in her desire to continually improve upon her knowledge-base by continuing her education. She is available for consultations or presentations regarding her areas of expertise.

Born and raised in Fredericton, Laura has a passion for dance and physical fitness. She is a long standing member of the YMCA where she volunteers as a Personal Trainer. Laura graduated in June 2005 from Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy. She came to work at Active Therapy in July of 2005 and since then, has become certified in Active Release Techniques. Laura has done an outstanding job of incorporating ART into her treatments since she trained in Montreal in the spring of 2007. She has a great ability to identify a problem area and work thoroughly to resolve chronic scar tissue build up. She has been working with Liza over the last two years to further educate people on the benefits of ART and to improve her skills as a therapist.

Vanessa Lanteigne, RMT

Vanessa graduated in October 2007 from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage and is a strong member of our massage therapy team. Vanessa has proven herself to be consistent, compassionate and a steadfast team player. She has worked exceptionally hard over the past two years to improve her knowledge of specific treatments and hone her therapeutic skills. Vanessa has studied Manual Empowerment Therapy (MET) which is an upcoming trend in the massage therapy field. She has built a strong reputation for her ability to identify client concerns and address issues accurately and effectively. Her approach is gentle in nature and this enables the client to release any tension patterns that they may be holding.

Stefanie graduated in 2005 from Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy. With several years experience, Stefanie came to work at Active Therapy Clinic in 2008 and has been a welcome addition to our team ever since. She brings humor, depth and strength to her therapeutic treatments. Her focus in on deep tissue release and the use of myofascial techniques to address difficult constrictions within the body. Stefanie has brought strength and positivity to her clients and she offers solutions to long standing problems. She is a triathlete who consistently works on her personal fitness and is an inspiration to others. Stefanie will be entering her first year of Nursing at UNB in September 2009 and will continue working with her clients throughout her studies.

April moved to Fredericton from Ontario where she graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in June of 2008. April has a passion for working with pregnancy massage and as a labor support provider. She has pursued trimester and labor support provider courses over the past year and is now actively working with pregnancy cases. Although she specializes in this area, April has a keen sense of touch and offers outstanding therapeutic treatments to all her clients. She has a natural ability to provide great variety in her approach to each treatment and always finds new ways to relax and reduce discomfort in her clients.

ATC welcomes one of our newest member to the team, Lyndie, who graduated from the Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy in 2002. Lyndie was raised in the Grand-Manan region and has been actively practicing massage therapy in St. Stephen since she graduated. Lyndie had the opportunity to work in a chiropractic clinic in Alberta where she began to take an interest in sports massage. Her treatment focus is primarily on deep tissue release and she is hoping to pursue ART training in the future. Lyndie has an eagerness to learn, willingness to work as a team player and a passion for helping people. She is ready to offer therapeutic and relaxation treatments while she pursues her passion for sports massage as her area of expertise.

Scott Andrews, RMT, Osteopathic Student

Scott will be joining the team this fall as a registered massage therapist as he pursues his career in Osteopathy. He is currently entering his second year of studies to become a fully certified Osteopath. Scott has trained and worked in the greater Toronto area in the field of massage therapy for over a decade. He has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including overseeing massage therapists at Canada Games, working with infant massage and being a member of the sports rehabilitation team in Waterloo. Scott is a welcomed addition to Active Therapy and we are grateful for the wealth of knowledge he will offer our clients.

Vicky has been at the hub of our clinic since 2006. She manages to orchestrate the schedules and demands of all the therapists at ATC while still performing many clerical duties. She is the most “hands on” with regards to our clientele and all others related to the clinic. Vicky has a knack for multitasking and we have come to appreciate her deeply for her commitment and dedication to our business.

Vicky graduated from Saint Thomas University in 1993 winning the creative writing prize in English. Vicky is interested in meditation and spiritual practices and enjoys spending time hiking with her partner and their dog. She has a passion for reading, creative writing and strategy games. If there are any problems with scheduling or other concerns, Vicky is the person to ask!

A native of Sackville, New Brunswick, Connie moved to Fredericton in 1998. She joined the staff at Active Therapy Clinic in October 2008, bringing with her the skills, effectiveness, compassion and energy she developed as a single mother of 3. Connie is our nighttime and weekend administrator who enjoys working with others and servicing our clientele. Her hobbies include crafts, health and fitness. She is passionate about spirituality, self-empowerment and healing.
